The Shimano XTR CS-M9110 11-speed cassette with Hyperglide+ for 30 % faster shifting can be seamlessly integrated into the 12-speed system with the RD-M9100-GS rear derailleur. How do you make it it lighter, more durable and more rigid, lesson number one: use alloy, steel and titanium together.

The new XTR also has a third cassette option (CS-M9110-11) especially for mountain bikers for whom particularly stable wheels are important while the overall weight of the bike is still low. The basis for stable wheels is usually a wider hub flange, which however limits the available space for the cassette. Therefore, the CS-M9110-11 cassette is based on the regular 10-51T cassette, but without the 51 pinion. As a result, it still offers sufficient bandwidth for many application scenarios, but is narrower and significantly lighter. The highlight: Since this new 11-speed cassette has the same sprocket spacing as the 12-speed cassettes, no special gear levers and no special chain are required - it can be seamlessly integrated into the 12-speed systems.
